Artform Home Plans is a division of Art Form Architecture, Inc., based in Portsmouth, NH, owned by architect Wendy Welton.

Mission
We at Artform Home Plans aim to bring great home design to a wider audience than is served by traditional architectural practice. Cost, accountability and attitude keep many people from hiring at architect. Builders tell us that they need drawings that are clearer and more current than they are getting from most "internet plans". We've designed our process to address these, and will continue to adapt our process, to do our best to meet your needs.
We can meet virtually all your home design and documentation (unless local licensing laws say otherwise - see State Resources page)
The Designers
The majority of the designs are by owner Wendy Welton, RA. Wendy is a graduate of Pratt Institute and is licensed to practice architecture in New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. She's been working in the field since 1986, was first licensed to practice architecture in 1998 and has specialized in residential design since 2001, when she founded Art Form Architecture, Inc.
We are proud to also feature plans by Bryce Engstrom, AIA, LEED AP , of Arroyo Grande, California. Bryce brings his skill with craftsman, spanish, modern and northwest/mountain home plans. Bryce is a LEED AP and is particularly killed in California and environmental permitting issues. Feel free to contact him directly about either our plans or your other projects. The Team
Buck Taylor provides the Energy and Mechanical Design service, which includes sizing of heating and air conditioning equipment balanced with insulation strategies and input into design changes that can reduce your energy needs - like roof overhangs and window choices.
Joey Martin, AIBD provides the Green Specifications, as well as home designs.
Allen Colburn of Pascoag, RI anchors plan production. Allen is a builder, skilled using Chief Architect®, and trained to Artform methods and standards. Jesse Ware is on the production team, contributes LEED AP expertise and manages some Builder Subscriptions in Southern Maine. Jesse is a builder with a background in traditional construction, post and beam, SIPS and fine millwork and is a LEED AP. Jim and Rod will be joining the production team over the winter - more plans, faster service! Rachel Harris has returned to Artform, in charge of Quality Control. Rachel anchored production for Art Form Architecture for 4 years, took a break to finish her thesis, and has returned with all her skill and even more education. Holly Ciampa runs the office, prepares a lot of the marketing material, contributes to production, and keeps Wendy on task.
The Home Designs
Your home may be the biggest investment you ever make. The most important factors are a quality builder and the right design. The best design in the world won't get you a great house if you hire a lousy builder. If you give a great builder a great set of plans - magic happens. Our plans will not be the cheapest. Our goal is to make them the best value - by providing everything you need so you don't have to pay someone else to draw the plans over just to make a few simple changes. We work hard every day to do just that - better than other plans, better today than yesterday.
