A Patron invests in art for art's sake. Are you a Patron of Architecture?
These designs are the ones that have gotten rave reviews from their original owners, have passers-by stopping to take pictures, or have gotten the best reactions in marketing venues. If you want your house to make your heart sing every time you come home, start here.
Most of our designs fit more than one Series. A small house with exceptional character and an in-law suite might appear in the Patron, Generations and Small Wonders categories.
The traditional family of two parents, 2 1/2 kids and a dog is no longer the norm. If you need accommodations for an aging parent, a home office (or two), or something other than the typical developer's offering - start with our Generations Series.
We can tell you quickly what's possible - an apartment in place of a home office, or visa versa - and even show you in an on-line 3D meeting.
And by the way - stop worrying about resale value. You are not alone. When it's time to sell your home, you only need one buyer, who needs exactly what you are selling.
Small is Green - for the environment and for your budget. Our Small Wonders series celebrates the small house. A smaller house consumes fewer resources for both during and after construction. They even require less house cleaning! You give yourself the gift of simplicity.
It's not enough to just shrink everything. Building smaller means building smarter and setting priorities. You may value a bigger laundry room, your neighbor a larger kitchen, and your parents may crave a no-door shower. This is where our personal service really pays off. We know what elements in our plans can be changed without affecting structure - and can advise you when it's worth changing, even if the framing has to be changed as well.
Need a small house now, but know you will need more soon? Most of these designs are configured so that you can finish part now and part later. The core has everything you need for the single person, couple or family with one child. They are laid out so that the unfinished portion can be closed off until needed, and little or no renovation will be required for the expansion.
Each of these designs are shown in both a "starter" version and more or more "finished" versions. When you see a G on the design number, that means the space over the garage is finished. The A versions have the attic finished, and B the basement. F means a family room side addition and D means a Duplex, or two family, option.
The Carpenter Series is about simplicity of construction - either the framing, the exterior detailing, or both. These designs rely on good proportions and a few carefully chosen touches for their looks.
If you value simplicity, start here. If you want to build your house yourself, start here. These homes are generally very framer-friendly, and some are even modular adaptable.
